Second China International Import Expo: GTCOM CEO Eric Yu on Empowering the Upgrading of Cultural & Tourism Industry with Smart Technology; LanguageBox Drives the Conference on Chinese Cultural Product Marketing

The second China International Import Expo ("CIIE" for short) is held in Shanghai during the period of November 5-10, 2019. To empower the CIIE as a platform of open cooperation through which to enhance cooperation and communication and conduct international trade, the National Base for International Cultural Trade (Shanghai) and China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd. jointly held the Annual International Marketing Conference on Chinese Culture and Tourism Products on November 7th. GTCOM LanguageBox provided the machine translation services throughout the conference. GTCOM CEO Eric Yu delivered a speech titled "Empowering the Upgrading of Cultural & Tourism Industry with Smart Technology" and signed the Memorandum on Developing Trade Cooperation in Cultural and Tourism Industry with the National Base for International Cultural Trade (Shanghai) on behalf of the company, to provide language technology that facilitates China's importation of commodities, technologies and services from countries throughout the world.

At the Annual International Marketing Conference on Chinese Culture and Tourism Products, the focus was placed on the promotion of international exchanges and cross-sector cooperation between culture, trade, tourism services and financial services, digital commerce, technology transaction, and physical education. At the conference, Wang Yayuan, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Deputy Director of Shanghai SASAC delivered a speech. Elites from cultural & tourism, technology, finance, sports and education industries in over 10 countries including China, Japan, Azerbaijan, Iran, South Africa, Denmark, Sweden, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada gathered together to discuss the new trends and new directions in the in-depth integration and cross-sector cooperation in culture and tourism. As a global leading fintech and research data analytical company, GTCOM's CEO Mr. Yu was invited to the conference and delivered a keynote speech titled Empowering the Upgrading of Cultural & Tourism Industry with Smart Technology, and shared the exploration and application of new-generation information technology such as big data, artificial intelligence and language technology aiming to empower the development of cultural & tourism industries.、

With the iteration and upgrading of technology, using language technology to serve the cultural & tourism industry will become a breakthrough for the implementation of new technologies in cultural & tourism industries," Mr. Yu said.

According to research data, there were 141 million inbound travelers and 149 million outbound travelers in 2018. Thus, the statistics indicate a tremendous market for language service. "The large demand for cross-language translation services has provided soil for the rapid growth of language-technology services. HAI (Human-centered Artificial Intelligence), people-centric machine translation has built a bridge for communication."
