On October 18, 2019, the Sixth Plenary Session of the Fourth Translation Service Committee of the Translators Association of China was held in Jinan. Huang Song, Director of the Translation Service Committee of the Translators Association of China, General Manager of China Translation Corporation and Chairman of Global Tone Communication Technology Co., Ltd. (GTCOM), as well as Chai Ying, Vice President of GTCOM attended the session.

At the meeting, Director Huang Song welcomed three new companies to join the committee, and presented certificates to the representatives of the companies. Gu Xiaofang, Secretary General of the Translation Service Committee of the Translators Association of China (TSC), summarized the work of the committee since 2019. He pointed out that, with the efforts of all working groups, the preparation of the industry standard Guide to Translation Procurement Part II Interpretation was progressing smoothly, and it would be officially issued in early November; the "Best Practice" paper solicitation event was successfully concluded, and some outstanding papers will be presented at the sub-forum of the annual meeting of Translators Association of China. Mr. Gu also introduced the planning of the annual TSC meeting. He said that the annual meeting was held jointly by TSC and Shandong Translation Association, and entity enterprises in Shandong were invited to attend the meeting. The meeting would present the results of the entire language service industry chain, summarize the standardized work paths, explore the cultivation of translation talents from the perspectives of both corporates and universities, and discuss the current application and prospects of translation technology.

When discussing the tasks for the next phase, Director Huang Song pointed out that, since its establishment in 2002, TSC has been committed to promoting the orderly, standardized and sound development of the translation service industry. All members must remain true to their original aspiration, adhere to the purpose of "co-construction, co-governance and sharing" to collaborate with and benefit each other, and to support the development of China's politics, economy, culture, science and technology through language services.
GTCOM is one of the main drafting units of the Guide to Translation Procurement Part II Interpretation, a professional standard for the language service industry. It also actively participated in the "Best Practice" paper solicitation event.
