Mr. Huang Youyi, in his speech, affirmed the development achievements of the LBDA in terms of its development speed, project cooperation, and sharing and joint building. He noted that the success of the LBDA should be considered inseparable from the hard work of the secretariat and the efforts of its members. The rapid growth of the LBDA shows that the establishment of the LBDA is a well-accepted endeavor that meets the current development need. He added that the number of the LBDA members grows, and LBDA's influence increases as well. In the future, the LBDA will follow its mission and exert a stronger, more positive influence on the industry's development. Meanwhile, the LBDA should constantly explore diversified development paths. On the basis of serving the members, the LBDA is aimed at improving the standards of the industry and achieving high-quality development through consistent innovation.
Mr. Huang gave three suggestions from the perspective of the LBDA's future development. Firstly, on the basis of collaborative building and sharing, the LBDA should strengthen, promote and implement consensus. Secondly, the LBDA should consider the development logic from the point to the surface. At its inception, the LBDA built a platform and made achievements in the "surface." Next, more efforts should be made at the "point." Thus, the resource advantages of the members should be brought to the fore. With this as a platform, the point-to-point cooperation among members should be strengthened in order to promote the implementation of various projects. Thirdly, in the process of promoting the implementation of projects, the LBDA should emphasize quality before quantity and proceed in a step-by-step, orderly fashion.
Mr. Yu made a detailed report on the LBDA's work situation during the course of the past year, following it with a description of the work plan for 2019. He noted that the LBDA has achieved a number of important results in 2018. The scale of the LBDA has expanded rapidly, with the membership exceeding 240, including more than 30 international universities and institutions. LITx Academy's online resource-sharing platform was officially launched in 2018, attracting nearly 100,000 users from more than 70 colleges and universities. The credit course programs were also carried out in an orderly manner. The comprehensive sharing of resources achieved remarkable results. The cooperation and practice of key projects in LBDA advanced in an orderly manner. In fact, there are now more than 100 universities and colleges with membership in the LBDA. Thousands of teachers and students participated in the cooperation of national key projects such as the SCO Summit and CNKEYWORDS, with 213 million words of translation completed throughout the year. The process of internationalization is accelerating. The "LBDA 2018 London Annual Conference" and the seminar "NexMagic Scholar Global Expert Index" at Princeton University are concrete actions designed to accelerate internationalization. Mr. Yu also introduced the work plan for 2019 from the aspects of bolstering the implementation of comprehensive resource sharing within the LBDA, accelerating the association's internationalization process and expanding the scale of key cooperation projects.
Additionally, Mr. Yu shared the topic of AI big data, about which the audience shared a concern. He used GTCOM's machine-translation application, technology big data and knowledge-graph application as examples to introduce GTCOM's exploration and attempt in the field of AI big data. He noted that GTCOM, as the founder and secretariat of the LBDA, is willing to strengthen cooperation with members and give play to their particular strengths in order to explore the enormous resources and energy contained in the language and big data fields.

The board members, who came from all over the country, heard and considered the work report. Moreover, they examined and approved applications for membership submitted by 64 domestic and international organizations, including 49 domestic and 15 foreign ones. Accordingly, the 2019 board meeting of the LBDA will be held at Macao Polytechnic Institute from April 1 to 4, 2019. Renowned scholars in the fields of artificial intelligence, big data and finance will be invited to Macao for the sharing of ideas. They also shared their views and opinions on the faster implementation of cooperation projects by the LBDA, the comprehensive application of the LITx platform, the accelerated international layout of the LBDA, the strengthening of school-enterprise cooperation in personnel training and the changes to the industry brought about by AI big data.
As a global, multi-field, multilingual scientific research and application alliance based on the open, sharing platform of big-data resources, the LBDA has a strongly cooperative trait and has achieved good results in promoting the development of all parties in the alliance. The success of the meeting not only summed up the work of the past year but also set new goals and highlighted new directions for the development of the new year. This will accelerate the convergence, exchange and sharing of global resources, promote the internationalization of industries and inject new impetus into the rapid development of China's language big-data industry.
